Web2Day's Global Challenge: Snipcart VS 49 International StartupsMay 21, 2015
As you may know, we've already participated in our fair share of events with Snipcart. I myself have spent four months integrating the Colorado startup scene last fall, pitching and presenting in many events. New Tech's infamous Pitch Night, held during the Denver Startup Week, was one of them. This winter, we gave a conference at the WAQ 2015, Québec's most important international web event. And we also pitched Snipcart in front of a web marketing audience at Infopresse's Boomerang Conference a few weeks ago in Montreal.
Today we're proud to announce that we'll be participating in a major international web event on the other side of the Atlantic.
Yup, Snipcart has been selected to participate in the Web2Day's Global Challenge, an international startup contest held in Nantes, France. We're going to hang out with our French cousins!
A little context: the Web2Day is a must in terms of web and digital events in France. From June 3 to 5, more than 2000 attendees and 100 speakers from all over the world will be there.
More than 200 startups submitted applications to participate in this tournament-like pitch challenge. 50 were chosen. Needless to say, we're pretty excited to be one of the competing startups.
On the 4th of June, all 50 of us will pitch our startups in front of VCs, angels and experts from France and the USA. Eight of us will move to the final step: pitching on the main stage the following day, in front of the festival's audience. Only one of us will be awarded the first prize.
Connect with startups from all over the world and the French tech community
Pitch our startup in front of a highly-qualified jury
Collect valuable feedback from peers and jurors
Expand our international visibility
Hopefully, boost signups and traffic
Oh, and if we do win any prize money, we guarantee to spend a reasonable amount of it during the networking party. To facilitate negotiations and discussions for everybody, you know.
We'll be sure to update you guys along the way, most likely via our Twitter account. Wish us luck and stay tuned!
PS: Special shoutout to MailSquad, a fellow startup from Québec also participating with us in the Global Challenge. If you're an agency looking to provide your own email marketing solution to clients and make money in the process, have a look at their product!
PPS: In the following weeks, we'll announce our participation in another major international event. Hint? Here.
